[img_assist|nid=10039|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=67|height=100]Gambling taxes in the Kingdom of Sweden allowed the government to increase their revenue. Now the state government is revising the possibility to allow foreign gaming companies to carry on their business within the country. Yet the Swedes do not intend to lose any of the income from the state-run online gambling operations. Thus new companies would receive a license only to book sports bets.

At the moment the Swedish state monopoly already deals in online poker and Internet sports booking. Thereby in order to protect the state income the government will restrict IP addresses and block payment methods.

The regulations will limit new betting operators only to running the sports books as reported by Jan Nyren, head of the Swedish gambling control commission. It means that foreign companies won’t be allowed to open casinos or install gaming devices, including slot machines.

Thus the private operators are to be closely monitored by the Swedish government and follow tightened rules and in case they allow underage participation they will be charged increase penalties.
