[img_assist|nid=8487|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=63]Fees for gas transactions are planned to be reduced by Visa Inc. as per reports from the credit card processor.

According to the officials’ statements the company is to rearrange the structure of charging fees for transactions at automated gas pumps. Starting July 18 the intercharge for debit cards will make up 95 cents per transaction. And later in October the company is intending to lower the overall charge rate for credit card fuel transactions to a single rate.

Gas station operators and oil companies are expected to pass the savings on to consumers at a time when oil prices continue to set records.
