Social Security System Electronic payment facilities of the Social Security System (SSS) were extended in 26 SM malls across the Philippines.

With the system SSS customers pay contributions and loans to SM Business Centers and these centers electronically transfer the transactions to the agency's system.

Pilot e-payment facilities were introduced by SSS last May in 4 SM malls located in Metro Manila.

At a later time in June electronic payments were launched at some other SM malls, most of which are located in provinces.

In addition SSS made some changes in the procedure. The deadline for contribution payments of self-employed and voluntary members was revised and contributions for July and further could be paid until the 20th day after the applicable month or quarter. If the deadline falls on a a weekend or a public holiday it will be postponed to a day later.
