Express payments at the last minute

Same day online payments are now available to consumers and small businesses. A new service is to be provided by Online Resources Corp.

The first pilot launch of the system to provide online financial transaction services was implemented last year.

Now customers may use the service through the banking and bill pay application of 500 banks and credit unions, which charge a $6.95 to $9.95 fee for the service.

The Online Resources' payments network handles express payments. The network links its proprietary system with the bank's system.

"This service enables our financial institution clients to generate fee income from the growing market for last minute payments, as more consumers rely on expedited payment services," stated Sheila Narayan, executive vice president and general manager of banking payments services for Online Resources. "It also benefits our biller clients with faster, guaranteed funding of payments debited from consumers' checking accounts using Online Resources' patented debit technology."
