e-commerce Neil Munroe, an expert of credit report service Equifax noted that retailers in quest of surviving the slump in the economy may resort to opening an e-commerce website as a key solution.

The expert draws attention to the increase of online sales occurred in recent times and noticed that the Internet may be the channel of choice for larger retailers in particular.

"There's been a growth in some of the larger websites in their development and internet-based sales which, ... if they can grow that, [is] very cost-effective and very low margin as you don't have to have all the retail environment to support it," he commented.

To get the best of online business merchants are recommended to provide for usability of their website which is the key of their success.

Merchants are advised to ensure the site navigation to be simple and such procedures as retail checkout to last not too long.
