Fraudsters are making use of the mess and confuse of the bank consumers to drag them into visiting malicious sites where the victims are robbed of their sensitive financial data.

Focusing on bank mergers and economic downturn as the cause for asking users to divulge their security information cyber criminals are making their mails on the same plane as real life events so that they appear more genuine, reports APACS.

In Eastern Europe hackers send mails and fake links under the mask of the true respectable institutions. Besides, hackers openly exchange personal information with each other for defrauding users bank or credit card details. The private data attached to the phishing mails looks more plausible and trust worthy. Among most vulnerable consumers are those who are expecting a new PIN or new pass code from bank.
