[img_assist|nid=10354|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=66|height=100]The American Payroll Association released the report on the study called "Getting Paid In America". The survey shows that employees in the US favor electronic payments over traditional paychecks. Further the study reports that 90% of employees are paid by either direct deposit or paycard.

Customers paid by direct deposit or paycard say that they would rather not get a paper pay stub. Nearly 62% of the polled prefer to view their payment online.

Via direct deposit and paycards employers make electronic deposit directly into employee bank accounts or onto a pin-protected payroll card. These options are much safer and more convenient than paper paychecks. With the e-payment method customers no longer need to stand in long lines at the bank or check cashing store and cash their entire paycheck.

Besides, such an approach allows companies to offer more environmentally friendly payroll options. This "paperless payroll" eliminates paper and enables employees access to their paystub and other payroll data through an online portal.
