E-Commerce in figures: Head for the East

Arab Advisors Group's team of analysts makes analysis on Arab World's communications and media markets. The recent research that covered four countries, namely Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Lebanon has shown that e-commerce in these countries e-commerce is developing in galloping pace. So according to the studies the total amount of e-commerce users here in 2007 was more than 5.1 million people.  

As Mr. Andrawes Snobar, Arab Advisors Sr. Research Analyst and team leader has commented on this: "The UAE's e-commerce users penetration was the highest among the countries studied. The UAE's e-commerce users' penetration stood at 25.1%. Saudi Arabia (14.3%) and Kuwait (10.7%) followed while Lebanon had the lowest penetration of e-commerce users with 1.6% of the total population".

Besides that this figure the researches have shown that in UAE over one year people get the highest average amounts per capita. The lowest indicators belong to Lebanon where e-commerce users penetrate very weakly. However, exactly Lebanon had registered the highest e-commerce expenditure per e-commerce users.
