E-commerce forecasts in Western Europe

[img_assist|nid=8291|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=87|height=100] In France business-to-customer (B2C) e-commerce is expected to increase 30% in 2008 which corresponds to €20.9 billion according to a study. However the figure is 35% lower than that in 2007 and 37% in 2006. Electronic sales in the country are predicted to slightly decrease next two years. In 2009 25% increase amounting €26.2 billion is expected while 2010 will see a 20% growth which makes up €31.4 billion.

Meantime one more survey shows that consumers in France are gladly participating in online shopping. More than 85% of the French customers polled expressed their satisfaction with purchasing from online retailers, noting that these offer better prices and discounts than ordinary stores. Eliminated the necessity of standing in queues was another advantage welcomed by a half of the respondents.

Buyers in Germany show confidence in the convenience and expediency of online commerce. Last year the number of online shoppers in Germany made up 74.9% of all Internet subscribers. The auditorium is expected to grow further. In 2008 online shoppers are predicted to make up 75.4%, in 2010 the percentage will increase to 76.5% and in 2011 this figure will account for 77%. However e-commerce sales are also expected to slightly decline in Germany. These will grow 28.4% in 2008, 24.3% in 2009, 19.1% in 2010 and even 16.6% in 2011.
