The APACS is expecting more than 5 million contactless cards to be issued by the end of the present year, which will be accepted in 100,000 merchant locations throughout the country. Two thirds of the £23 billion cash transactions, which were conducted during the past 2007 were less than GBP. The statistics shows that during the last 5 years cash payments were declining and fell 14%.
