CIB (Criminal Investigation Bureau) yesterday made some warnings to customers using electronic online shopping systems to be careful of fraud, especially stealing of personal data and secret codes. Moreover, it listed the eight leading e-shopping websites ant two major TV Online shopping channels which became victims by hacking in the first half of December.

One of the worst cases of such losses is 5000 batches of personal data of customers using PayEasy. According to the statistics by NPA's "165 anti-fraud phone line" shoppers announced about 797 fraud cases with financial losses ranging from NT $30,000 to NT$ 60,000 per case during the two week period.

The victims used online shopping services provided by web sites of Yahoo Kimo, Books, KingStone bookstore plus the TV shopping channel offered by Eastern TV and MOMO of Taipei Fubon Bank. Just because online fraudsters became smarter from time to time, more and more Online Systems are going to work closer with the CIB.
