Cellular South and BancorpSouth Inc. are ready tolaunch mobile banking

It became known from the official announcement of Cellular South and BancorpSouth Inc. According to the release this application will enable the users of  announced  Cellular South to conduct various financial operations by means of cellular phones.  

"Mobile banking is a convenient and secure method of managing money through your wireless handset," said Cellular South president Hu Meena in a statement.

Owing to the new application users will be able to view their balances and statements, and also to make transfers, pay bills and enjoy many other options. This program is supposed to be realized in partnership with Firethorn Holdings, mobile payments provider. All the transactions will be done though a secure network.

Mobile banking becomes more and more common in view of popularity of mobile phones throughout the world. So, today about 46 million households use internet banking services and it is expected that by 2010, 17 million of them will use mobile banking that will almost totally replace the online ones.
