[img_assist|nid=10079|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=67|height=100]The meetings of the House Financial Services Committee ended on a positive note with a 30-9 vote approval of Barney Frank's Payments Systems Protection Act. Now further discussions are to be held in the House of Representatives.

That was the second time Barney Frank the Chairman of the committee attempted to discontinue the regulations of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act HR 5767. First time Frank introduced his original Payments Systems Protection Act in conjunction with Congressman Ron Paul. The Act was struck down by the Committee in June of 2008.

Today as Barney Frank notes the legality of online gambling in the United States is still interpreted in many ways. Whether some kind of betting is legal depends on which one of the government departments you ask. The new bill is expected to clarify what is exactly legal and what is not.
