[img_assist|nid=8607|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=100]Qatar banks are short of modern technologies to serve their clients. In order to provide digital banking services to businesses in Qatar a corresponding platform needs to be developed.

In view of scarcity of such platforms companies are using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems from suppliers like Oracle, SAP and JD Edwards as reported by Kamal Ahsan, HSBC Qatar Head of Payments and Cash Management.

Large-scale management of account payables and receivables deploy these systems. "Integration of these systems with domestic banks is unlikely because of the lack of an appropriate platform," said Ahsan.

"Companies are looking for banks that provide complete cash management solutions and the outsourcing of such services is more common today in Qatar's corporate environment," notes Ahsan.
