[img_assist|nid=7556|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=59]Citibank customers in Singapore will have an opportunity to access the U.S. eTail market. This is to become possible on account of a new five year agreement signed by Borderlinx, a global provider of innovative eCommerce management solutions, and Citibank Singapore Ltd. Shipment services for the project will be provided by DHL, which signed a five year contract for the purpose either. The project is to be named GlobeShopper.

Shoppers in Singapore will be able to avail of large selection of goods from US eTailers at lower prices. GlobeShopper will enable convenient and flexible shopping on US sites having even such shortcomings as absence of shipping to outside locations or denial to accept foreign-issued credit cards. Customers will be able to accumulate their purchases at one place before shipment which will result in further cost savings.

"Currently only a small proportion of U.S. eTailers provide customers with an international service," states Douglas West, Marketing Director Borderlinx. "Until now, providing customers with accurate shipping information - which in itself is complex due to varied shipping charges based on volumetric weight and banded customs duties - is complicated. And similarly, providing shipping solutions, customer service support, and international payment options, has been challenging. However, Borderlinx's service accurately and securely manages these issues for both the eTailer and the consumer."

"Our GlobeShopper service comes at a time when online shopping is a fast-growing trend in Singapore, particularly from U.S. websites. We want to capture and enlarge this fast growing segment by making it as easy for our customers to shop and ship from the U.S., as they would from a local retailer," Mr Radha Suvarna, Director of Portfolio Management and Cross Sell, Credit Payment Products at Citibank Singapore.
