The 2008 Connect NonStop Availability Award was granted to MasterCard Worldwide as announced by the company this week. This is the fourth time time in five years that MasterCard Worldwide has earned this honor. The award was previously know as the International Tandem User Group (ITUG) NonStop Availability Award.

This year award was co-presented by Connect and Hewlett-Packard for processing reliability on MasterCard as compared with a great number of nominees including major competitors.

"Continuous availability of data and the ability to handle peak workloads are necessities for MasterCard, which relies on HP NonStop servers in processing billions of payment transactions for millions of cardholders," said Winston Prather, vice president and general manager of NonStop, Business Critical Systems, HP. "HP joins Connect in acknowledging the outstanding implementation practices of MasterCard as it maximizes the value of its data center investments and delivers superior service to its customers worldwide."
