Alibaba challenged by new rivals

Alibaba Alibaba, Chinese e-commerce heavyweight leader is going to be rivaled by Thailand web search leader Buzz and Chinese web search leader Baidu. Baidu completed modifications platform and it will now accept up to 10,000 applications for beta testers while Buzz has developed a portal focused on the raw material sector.

Customers who apply and get approval from Baidu will be provided with independent CN domain names, free promotions and customized marketing activities. The authorized customers will also be given the opportunity to upload products, decorate their online shops and complete business certification before the opening of the platform.

As for Buzz it is planning to offer a similar service aimed at the top end for traders in the commodities and raw materials sector. As a part of the service, the financial services division of Buzz will assist in qualifying buyers, sellers, materials and financial instruments.

Later during the second phase of the Buzz Export Portal the company will provide individuals and businesses with the opportunity to build their own free online presence, supported by Buzz's search, advertising and SEO services. Besides, assistance will be rendered to remote communities with limited Internet access.
