Aconite will delelop Visa Europe's new prepaid cards

Visa Europe made its choice and took Aconite, a leading provider of smart card software solutions and professional services as a provider of software for development of a new Visa payWave prepaid card.

This decision was made in view of Aconite's Smart PrePaid (SPP) solution, which was regarded the best one for Visa Europe's new Prepaid Chip specification. It is expected that first Aconite will support the initial delivery pilot aimed to test and show Visa payWave prepaid cards only with selected Issuers. This step was taken to reduce to a minimum the impact and integration requirements with one issuer to avoid future failures in a wider scale.  

According to the statements SPP solution from Aconite will provide an opportunity to make secure prepaid transactions without any authorization even offline, which is very convenient for Issuers. The creators assure that the existing balance is completely stored on the card and can be controlled and tracked in a shadow account. The window shows how the balance reduces and when it exhausts the holder can load the card again and update it via an online transaction.
