[img_assist|nid=9010|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=40] Internet subscribers are now able to test a new web browser known as Chrome. The application was developed by Google and can be downloaded right now. Naturally like Firefox the new browser will feature Google search box.

Chrome will also have its code as open-source, to let developers build a wide variety of plugins as they already have on Firefox. The interface of the software will offer a thumbnailed start page presenting nine most visited pages and other recommended pages.

Tabs and windows were also upgraded by Google. While conventional browsers show tabs beneath the address bar Chrome will show tabs above the web address bar. The browser has an additional feature that allows a user to keep a particular page hidden from the browser history.

Chrome leverages Webkit, the browser rendering engine already used by Apple’s Safari browser. Yet Chrome will be able to load Javascript, software code used in many web page features, faster than current browsers. Besides, Chrome will be regularly downloading a list of harmful sites to warn users against them. Like Firefox Chrome will be integrated with Gears, Google’s component for accessing web site features while a user is offline.
