[img_assist|nid=9791|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=100]A new domestic ATM network is being launched in Cambodia by Visa in cooperation with Cambodia Mekong Bank, Canadia Bank, Singapore Banking Corporation (SBC Bank), and Union Commercial Bank (UCB).

With the new service known as “Easy Cash” Cambodians will be able to perform basic banking services, such as balance enquiries and cash withdrawals at any Easy Cash network ATM around the country.

The initiative is expected to promote electronic payment transactions in Cambodia. Enabling electronic payments can result in more customers involved into the banking system because they help create safer, more efficient and convenient payment services.

“The banks investigated various means to connect their systems and they concluded that the most resilient and cost-effective solution for their needs was to connect the ATMs through VisaNet. This decision was made based on the technology and scale of the VisaNet system, coupled with the expertise of Visa's team,” notes Ms. Truong Minh Ha, Visa’s country manager, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

The VisaNet platform fully deploys the banks' existing ATM infrastructure. Being unified under the Easy Cash brand banks will benefit from the opportunity to provide more customers with ATM services leading to an increased footprint in the market.
