HP charges Oracle's employee with data theft

Hewlett-Packard Co. filed a suit against the employee of Oracle Corp. who previously worked as a sales executive in HP. According the hi-tech giant Adrian Jones stole the company secrets and joined the competitive company.

The prosecutors claim that Jones has copied strategic and financial plans, staff data and sales figures of HP to his USB storage device and quit the company 5 days later. HP says that Jones was aware that the company wanted to terminate their contract due to violation of code of business conduct. In a month he joined Oracle.

It is necessary to say that this is not the first case HP suits its former employees. Earlier the company sued Mark Hurd, ex-chief executive who left the company for the same Oracle. That time HP demanded Oracle to terminate the employment contract as the confidentiality agreement of Hurd prevented him from joining the rival companies.
