MasterCard appoints new Head of Relationship Management in Ireland

MasterCard has announced the name of its new Head of Relationship Management in Ireland. According to the official statement made yesterday, Peter Corrigan who came to MasterCard almost 7 years ago was the best candidate.

Corrigan, 57, has over thirty years experience working in the card payments industry in Ireland and further afield and has held a number of senior roles in MasterCard, both in Belgium and the UK, since he joined the organisation in 2004. Prior to joining MasterCard, Corrigan was Manager, Merchant Services & Commercial Cards, Ulster Bank Card Services Dublin (2000–2004) and VP Service Establishments in Citibank Dublin (1998–2000).

“We’re delighted to have Peter in place in Dublin. With a tech-savvy, young population and a steadily increasing amount of payments made electronically, we see many opportunities for development of our business in Ireland. We hope Irish consumers will eventually take as sophisticated an approach to their payment choices as they do with their mobile phones – whether it’s a credit, debit or prepaid card, or a ‘contactless’ device that allows them to ‘Tap & Go™’ to pay in under a second,” said Hany Fam, President of MasterCard UK and Ireland.
