24 million tablets will be sold this year

According to the recent report, published by eMarketer, one of the leading research groups, the purchases of tablets and e-readers will increase this year.

Recently International Data Corporation has reported that during Q4 about 10.1 million tablets were shipped worldwide in Q4, against 4.5 million in Q3. E-readers also become more popular: 12.8 million in 2010 against 3 million in 2009. It is expected that this year worldwide tablet sales will reach 24 million and 80% of them will be iPads.

This opinion is confirmed by the research of Boston Consulting Group: Half of internet users in the US who familiar with tablets and e-readers plan to buy a device the next year, and 70% of polled users think of obtaining the one in the next three years. The figures worldwide are nearly the same.

Also it was revealed that the Internet users are eager to pay for the Internet content, including music, video and games. It was also said that the potential tablet users are ready to pay $5 to $10 to gain a monthly subscriptions to digital book or digital newspaper services.
