Traditional marketing is more efficient than social media for online retailers

According to a new research from ForeSee Results traditional marketing tools bring a better return on investment (ROI) for retailers than social media. The study revealed that social media mainly influence only 5% of visitors to retail websites.

Meantime, the research says that more traditional marketing strategies like promotional emails (19%), search engine results (8%), and Internet advertising (7%), influence more visits to retail websites.

Besides, the study also found that traditional marketing not only influence more traffic it deliver better-quality traffic. Some of the most satisfied site visitors arrived at the site because of previous familiarity with a brand, promotional emails, word-of-mouth, and product review websites.

It was also found that most customers are wishing to engage with retailers but do it via email or retail websites rather than social media. Only 8% of online shoppers say that social media is their preferred way to interact with a retailer.

People are more satisfied with retailers’ presence on Facebook than they are with Facebook itself.
