Smartphones and Facebook help promote a company

According to the latest findings by Forrester Research employees in America are more likely to recommend their companies if they are provided with smartphones and social network tools for work – as well as those who use the Internet after hours for work.

In it poll of 5,519 information workers in North America, the U.K., France and Germany, Forrester asked two questions like these:

*How likely are you to recommend your company's products or services to a friend or family member?

* How likely are you to recommend a job at your company to a friend or family member?

In total, the study revealed that workers aren't huge advocates for their companies, something that's not surprising in this economy but that also can't be helping companies overcome the tough market.

Meantime, in North America about 50% of employees who use social media tools like Facebook, Twitter and the like are promoters vs. only about a third who don't use such tools. Besides, 42% of smartphone users at work were advocates vs. 30% of non-smartphone users, and 39% of those using the Internet after work for business are advocates vs.29% who don't, Forrester found.
