Boycott forces Amazon to withdraw pedophilia book

Amazon withdrew an e-book about pedophilia from its online store after complaints and a boycott threat as reported by many media sources.

The book, "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover's Code of Conduct," by Philip R. Greaves II, was posted for sale on October 28 and cost $4.79 to download, the reports said.

While initially Amazon tried to defend the book in a statement later it was forced to pull it from the store as a campaign against it was started on the Internet via Twitter, Facebook and other websites.

Protesters circulated a message through social networking sites that said: "Protect Children. Boycott Amazon."

The book title appeared on the company's website on Thursday but a subsequent message read: "We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site."
