[img_assist|nid=10185|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=66|height=100]First UK prepaid Visa debit card was recently introduced by UK-based company UreLife which can also be used as a proof-of-age ID for various age groups. The card displays the holder’s color photograph, date of birth and specific age band, depending on the age group, with different bands for cardholders aged 12-15, 16-17, 18+and 21+.

There is also the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram that verifies that it is authorized as legal proof of age/photo-ID card by such organizations as the British Home Office, the Association of Chief Police Officers and the Trading Standards Institute.

Young customers aged under 18 should have their parents’ approval to apply for the Visa card. With the card parents have a certain degree of control over their children’s spending. For instance the card ensures under-age youngsters cannot purchase age-restricted products such as cigarettes or alcohol. The UreLife cards are available to UK and non-UK nationals.
