ePassporte finally says "good bye". Funds can be withdrawn through ATMs

One more online payment system has disappeared due to the efforts of the third party. This time the e-commerce society said good bye to ePassporte payment system which was closed due to ‘circumstances beyond their control.’

On October 5,2010 all ePassporte account holders received the following message from the company:

Dear ePassporte Account Holders,

It is with great regret we inform you that ePassporte must close its doors due to a lack of revenue and circumstances beyond our control.

Effective immediately, the call center, ePassporte's sales and marketing team and risk management staff will no longer be available. A small group will remain to organize wallet requests and help disburse funds. On the ePassporte website, in the near future, wallet holders will be provided further information on what is needed to obtain your funds. This will mainly be a process to protect wallet holder funds from fraud. We expect this will be a simplified process, and as we receive the necessary information, our small remaining staff will process requests as quickly as they can. Please direct your wallet questions, concerns and requests to .

For those of you with funds on your Visa Accounts, we are informed that St. Kitts Bank is working on a plan to provide everyone with full access to their funds through their Visa Electron Cards or by bank wire transfers and will inform you accordingly.

We appreciate your support for the ePassporte program over the past 7 years and deeply regret we must close our doors at this difficult time.

Sincerely,

ePassporte.com

It is a great pity since ePassporte was a stable payment system with a great security level. Now hundreds of people are expecting their fate with a fear. Thousands of dollars are frozen in their accounts.

Yesterday the company has issued another piece of news.

Dear Account Holder:

St. Kitts Bank has announced that Visa Cards have been reactivated and funds are available to be withdrawn as of today. If you have funds on your Virtual Visa Card, please use your Visa Electron Card at ATM.s or Points of Sale Merchant locations. You can also use your Visa Virtual Card for online purchases. If your card is not working or you require assistance with the funds on your Visa Card, please contact SKNANB at https://www.sknanb.com/message.htm.

If you have funds on your ePassporte Wallet Account, we kindly ask that you direct all correspondence to one address: . Please be patient with us during this time as we have encountered a large number of fraudulent requests and are working with a small staff to review accounts manually.

Dozens of emails are being sent to individuals no longer employed or contracted by ePassporte, to Mr. Gregory Elias and United Bank and none of these individuals can answer your requests. More importantly, your requests will not be forwarded to ePassporte. It is extremely important all wallet related inquires are sent to

Please expect a definitive date for wallet wires to go out on or before October 18th.

Once again, we regret the inconvenience and problems not having access to your funds has caused. We are working diligently to get this resolved. We ask for your continued patience as we sort through the many issues with the Bank and Visa as well as our Fraud Prevention System.

Sincerely,

ePassporte

Who knows, may be people will be lucky to get their money back and escape the fate of eBullion payment system users.
