88% of the Brits think that contactless payment is a good idea

MyVoucherCodes, a UK discount code website has announced the results of its poll conducted to learn the reaction of people to the recent decision to trial contactless payment technology on payments under £15 made by the Co-Operative.

According to the survey results 72% of the Brits have welcomed the decision and would like to see the new system in all supermarket stores, and 25% of them said that they would be pleased to see the technology in clothing stores. 88% of people found the idea of contactless payment as ‘a good idea;’ and 37% of the Brits said that the technology was ‘overdue.’ 23% of those polled said that they would be glad to use the technology under the condition of high security, and 44% of the respondents said that they would like to be able to use the technology on purchases over £15.

“I believe that contactless payment technology is set to make huge waves in the high street of the future; making the Co-Operative’s decision to trial the technology, in my eyes, extremely forward-thinking. Internet retailing has grown from strength to strength over recent years, proving extremely popular with customers seeking a simpler, and more convenient, way to shop. The fact that so many of the people polled thought that contactless payment was a good idea as it will make their shopping ‘easier,’ proves that convenience is paramount for shoppers UK- wide,” said Mark Pearson, Managing Director of http://www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk.

1,052 people have participated in the poll.
