Hypercom self-service card payment terminals will be installed in Madrid metro

Hypercom Corporation has announced that more than 1,000 Hypercom Artema Modular self-service card payment terminals will be installed at 293 Metro de Madrid stations. Such decision was taken by the integrators Indra and Telvent to speed up ticketing for nearly 2.5 million commuters and other travelers per day and 90 million passengers each and every year.

The metro of Madrid is the sixth longest metro in the world 382 kilometers (237.4 miles) long. And it continues growing. The product of Hypercom Corporation was not chosen occasionally. Currently Artema Modular unattended payment terminal of Hypercom is the most widely used product chosen throughout Europe.

“Demand for high security self-service transactions is escalating globally, allowing consumers to benefit from 24/7 access to goods and services,” said Kazem Aminaee, President and Managing Director, Hypercom Southern EMEA. “Indra and Telvent’s selection of Hypercom technology strengthens our leadership position in self-service card payment solutions, and brings new levels of convenience to millions of travelers.”
