Chinese Xinhua news website was found disitributing malware

As Google malware scanning service reported, a section of the Web site for China's state-run Xinhua news agency was found to be distributing malware last month.

Google malware scanning service continues labeling the site as potentially harmful.

As said Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page, the "news center" section of the Xinhua's Web site, which displays a feed of the agency's stories, was found to have one scripting exploit and one Trojan on it during a scan. Although no suspicious content was found during a scan about ten days later, the Xinhua's Web site section is still considered by Google to be potentially offensive.

However, the agency has checked its Web site and it has found no problems

Actually, the variety of factors can cause a Web site to distribute malware, including third-party attackers who add malicious code to a site without permission.

In fact, China is not the only country where the Web sites of state-linked company are hit by malicious software. Three US Department of the Treasury Web sites have been hacked recently.
