200 Yahoo employees go to Microsoft

Microsoft and Yahoo have made a decision on how to deal with the post-partnership personnel situation in at least one country. Thus, according to a Yahoo exec statement, about 200 of Yahoo's engineers in India will switch companies.

This move will be accomplished over the next one year.

"Two hundred of our best-of-breed talent involved in search infrastructure technology will be offered options with Microsoft," as explained Shouvick Mukherjee, who lays claim to the title "VP & CEO Yahoo India R&D" to Chiranjoy Sen.

It looks as a good sign that things are being planned out so far in advance. It also signals that Microsoft and Yahoo know exactly what they want to do in technical terms.

And this transfer doesn’t mean a white flag after severe competition. As Mukherjee claims, Yahoo and Microsoft will continue competing at all product levels, including those in search.
