Heartland shareholders litigation dismissed by District Court

Heartland Payment Systems,a  leader of credit/debit/prepaid card processing, payroll, check management and payment services provision, announced Wednesday that two days before its motion to dismiss the consolidated shareholder class action, In Re Heartland Payment Systems, Inc. Securities Litigation, was granted by the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.

The suit had been filed against Heartland, Robert O. Carr, Heartland’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and Robert H.B. Baldwin, Jr., Heartland’s President and Chief Financial Officer.

The case, that appeared to be a result of the breach to the company’s processing system previously disclosed by Heartland January 20, 2009, was unsuited in its entirety with prejudice.
