First Data’s two executives joined company's financial services business

First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, today announced that two financial services executives have joined the company's Financial Services business segment. 

Kevin Barry has joined the company as general manager of the STAR® Network. Peter J. Korpady has joined the company as senior vice president, national sales and relationship management.

To have someone with Kevin's broad experience and background in a leadership position will help ensure that the STAR network continues to grow and deliver innovation for all of its members," said Kevin Schultz, president, First Data Financial Services. Both Barry and Korpady will report to Schultz.

 Barry comes to First Data with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including time as vice president and director of retail products and research at Commerce Bancorp. In that role, he oversaw product management for retail deposit products, debit cards and marketing research. He previously served on Visa's Debit Product Executive Council, PLUS Network Executive Council and Visa DPS Product Advisory Group. Most recently, Barry was senior vice president and director of marketing at Republic First Bancorp. He also has worked at FirstTrust Savings Bank, Corestates Financial (Wachovia) and the Federal Reserve Bank. He has a bachelor's degree in marketing from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

 Korpady, with 25 years in the financial services industry, will be responsible for relationship management and business development across the Financial Services customer base.

He will focus his efforts on ensuring that First Data meets and exceeds the needs of our financial institution customers through innovative product and service offerings that help our customers build revenue and manage risk," said Schultz.

Korpady most recently served as global head of Issuer Processing for Visa Inc., where he was responsible for product development, operations and sales activities for Visa's VPS joint venture. Prior to that, Korpady held various positions in sales, relationship management and business development at Visa and also at Global Payments and eFunds/Deluxe Data.
