Beatles record brand sues a website for selling the band songs for 25 cents

EMI, a record label for the Beatles band, is suing U.S. music website BlueBeat.com for copyright infringement as the website sells compositions of the popular band without any authorization.

"EMI has not authorized content to be sold on BlueBeat.com," a spokeswoman said.

EMI confirmed it had filed a copyright infringement suit against BlueBeat.com in a U.S. court earlier this week.

Visitors at BlueBeat.com can purchase songs of the Beatles from the Fab Four for 25 U.S. cents each which is about ¼ of the price set at iTunes, owned by Apple Inc.

The offer includes extensive list of Beatles albums, both original and recently remastered versions, despite the fact that the band has yet to agree with music providers to the release of its cherished catalog online.
