Microsoft develops Windows 8 and Windows 9

As Microsoft is making preparations before the official launch of its new operating system Windows 7 the Internet is being filled with rumors about the development of even newer versions of OS under the corresponding names Windows 8 and Windows 9.

The details about the company’s projects leaked into the Internet by “Senior Research and Development,” Robert Morgan on a LinkedIn profile. He hinted that the 2 future versions of Windows, both which are currently under early stages of development, will support 128-bit architecture. This is what it actually said on his LinkedIn profile:

“Working in high security department for research and development involving strategic planning for medium and longterm projects. Research & Development projects including 128bit architecture compatibility with the Windows 8 kernel and Windows 9 project plan. Forming relationships with major partners: Intel, AMD, HP, and IBM.”

Besides, according to some sources at the end of last week, a European healthcare newsletter quoted Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer as telling the audience at the U.K. press launch of Windows 7 that, "We've got Windows 8 under development now."

Well, true or not, but as we know there is no smoke without a fire. Meanwhile we can just enjoy the long waited product from Microsoft that might wipe out negative impressions left by infamous Vista family.
