American people again believe Barack Obama?

According to an Associated Press-GfK poll the ratings the US President Barack Obama are again rising since their decline after the inauguration. New figures show that Americans are getting more optimistic again while concerns over the economy, health care and war remain with less support being expressed for the war in Afghanistan.

The report revealed that 56% of respondents polled last week approve of Obama's job performance as compared with 50% reported in September. This improvement is the first after Obama took office earlier this year.

In total the percentage of those who disapprove of Obama's performance in office made up 39% which is down from 49% in the previous month. The survey shows that 41% now think the nation is headed in the right direction versus 37% recorded last month.

Meantime, most of the polled expressed their concerns about the main challenges facing the United States. The report says 88% said the economy is the biggest concern followed by unemployment, health care, terrorism, the budget deficit, taxes and the war in Afghanistan.

Still the survey shows that majority are supporting Obama’s policies with 50% expressing their approval of the president's handling of the economy as compared with 44% registered last month. 48% said they approved of his handling of health care against 47% who said they disapproved.
