PayPal hires new executives from US largest financial institutions

 An Internet payments services provider PayPal announced the appointment of three new executives to its staff. John McCabe will occupy the seat of senior vice president of worldwide operations for PayPal. Ed Eger was appointed as a senior vice president of transaction management. Renier Lemmens will lead PayPal’s business in Europe. All three executives will report to PayPal President Scott Thompson. 

McCabe comes to PayPal team from Wachovia Corporation, where he served as an executive vice president of Wachovia Direct Access. He has over 33 years of global experience with the vast knowledge and expertise in customer service transformation and retail banking operations. 

Eger previously worked at Citigroup as the CEO of the company’s international consumer credit card business. In his 25-year career, Eger has run a range of financial service businesses in North America, Asia, Latin America and Europe. 

Lemmens who will be responsible for expanding usage of PayPal on eBay and on other e-commerce sites across the region, as well as supporting European developer adoption of PayPal X, PayPal’s platform initiative, joins the company from International Retail and Commercial Banking Division at Barclays Bank PLC where he served as CEO. Lemmens has extensive international business experience having worked in the Benelux region, France, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, Hungary, India and North America.
