Microsoft filed five lawsuits against harmful online advertising individuals

As it became known Thursday, Microsoft filed civil lawsuits in Seattle, Washington against so called "malvertisers."

Malvertising term appeared to describe harmful online advertising and works by camouflaging malicious code as harmless online advertisements, according to Microsoft's associate general counsel Tim Cranton’s explanation. 

Individuals behind the business names "Soft Solutions," "Direct Ad," "qiweroqw.com," "ITmeter Inc" and "ote2008.info" used malvertisements to distribute malicious software or present deceptive websites that peddled scareware to unsuspecting Internet users, in compliance of the lawsuits.

It stands to mention, that names of specific individuals behind these activities were unknown and the lawsuits were being filed to help find out personalities responsible for.
