An m-payments service Zong reaches a 10 million users milestone in 2009
Zong, a payment service for publishers of online games and other digital content, announced this week that its mobile transaction platform has processed mobile payments for 10 million unique users to date in 2009. Besides, Zong also announced the addition of new carrier partners in Eastern Europe, Russia, Southeast Asia and South America. At the moment Zong covers 30 countries.

“Positioned at the center of the explosive-growth global marketplace for virtual goods, mobile payments have become a tremendously popular transaction platform for consumers across all demographic segments,” said David Marcus, founder and CEO, Zong. “Our ability to serve 10 million customers already in 2009 was fueled by our understanding of consumer behavior across the social web, the ease-of-use of our pay by mobile solution, our extensive global network of direct carrier relationships and our nine years of operating experience at the nexus of the web, media and mobile content.”

Zong is featured in top applications on Facebook and MySpace and integrated with popular virtual worlds and gaming sites like Gaia Online and Outspark. The Zong mobile payments platform enables web publishers and game developers to reach over 1 billion mobile users. Zong’s underlying transaction platform has processed payments for 25 million total unique users since 2000.
