MoneyGram and Affinity Global Services partner to develop m-money service

As it became known Monday, MoneyGram teamed with Affinity Global Services in a move to enable mobile money transfer receives in important markets around the globe, for greater convenience and extending MoneyGram services benefits to a new category of consumers.

The MoneyGram and Affinity Global Services collaboration will let customers consumers use MoneyGram’s agent network to send money to an account associated with their mobile device. That will support immigrants living outside their home country to stay connected. Moreover, m-money transfer applications is to enable consumers to manage their finances via their mobile devices easily.

Affinity Global Services appeared to become first Mobile Gateway to facilitate MoneyGram services, and intends to provide technical connectivity between MoneyGram and variety of mobile network operators. The MoneyGram mobile money transfer service is to use Affinity Global’s MADE™ Platform, that will let MoneyGram link to any mobile network operator.

However, the parties to the agreement are still in talks with a mobile network operator that is supposed to be the first to offer the service to consumers later this year.
