Goldman Sachs has worse reputation in US than Morgan Stanley
A survey conducted for the Financial Times showed that the reputation of investment bank Goldman Sachs among both the general public and financially sophisticated Americans was adversely impacted by the events of the past year. The study polled 17,000 Americans and was conducted by Brand Asset Consulting.

The poll shows that Goldman's stature had suffered in 2008 and 2009. Meanwhile, the survey also revealed that even though the reputation of its main rival Morgan Stanley was hit as heavily respondents in the survey liked and respected Morgan Stanley more than Goldman.

The name of Goldman Sachs, the largest US investment bank, was defaced by a flow of unwanted publicity including an unflattering spread in Rolling Stone magazine, which accused the bank of having a key role in various market bubbles stretching back to the 1920s.
