“iTunes killer”  Spotify  launches its iPhone service

Spotify, the Swedish music streaming service that has been known as “iTunes killer” because of its ease of use and its comprehensive, free library of millions of songs, unveiled its plans to implement its first mobile application.

Spotify has already submitted the application to Apple's iTunes App Store for the approval. If approved, the service will be available for users to download onto iPhones. Customers will also be enabled to stream playlists.

The company has not unveiled the prices yet. Nevertheless, a speculation had place that it would only be available to premium subscribers who currently pay £9.99 a month to use the service on their computers without adverts.

Thus, for instance, launched last year service has already attracted over a million UK users, and more than six million within Europe. Unfortunately, Spotify hasn’t launched it service in the US, however it plans to do that by the end of the year.

Previously, Spotify presented Android-based mobile phones application, though it’s still not available for the public.
