How you can evade being scammed by a fake car warranty company
Experts from car warranty companies, that have been paying for car repairs for decades, give advice to protect customers from expensive car problems.

If your warranty has expired, experts recommend to get coverage from a Better Business Bureau.

Then read the contract through, looking for information like:

• Are the A/C, transmission, etc., covered?
• Is there a limit to the amount of claims that will be covered?
• Can you choose your own mechanic?
• What’s the claim number, and how are claims handled?

If this information isn’t in the contract or it’s confusing, experts recommend to contact the BBB immediately.

Experts offer to answer the following questions about company honesty:

• Has the company been around? (experts recommend to find one that’s at least 10 years old)
• Will they be there tomorrow? (experts recommend to make sure the company is insured)
• How do they treat customers? (experts recommend to look for an A or better rating from the BBB, and endorsements such as a Motor Trend Recommended Best Buy award)
• How can you find them? (scammers generally hide their address and phone number).
