According to the reports a technical glitch in Visa Debit processing system resulted in extra-ordinary charges. Some cardholders were shocked being changed of over $23 quadrillion for everyday purchases. So, in New Hampshire Josh Muszynski decided to buy a pack of cigarettes at a gas station. Having swiped his debit card he found that he was charged of $23,148,855,308,184,500.

The same situation occurred in North Texas where Jon Seale found the same amount in his credit card statement after having paid a bill in a restraint. In total it was reported that ‘fewer than 13,000’ transactions were effected.

"A temporary programming error at Visa Debit Processing Services caused some transactions to be inaccurately posted to a small number of Visa prepaid accounts," Visa spokeswoman Elvira Swanson said in a written statement. "The technical glitch has been corrected, and all erroneous postings have been removed."
