AliPay beat PayPal and became the first online payment system in the world
According to the announcement of Alipay, a subsidiary of Alibaba Group and main payment tool of Taobao.com online auction, made on July 6 it has left PayPal behind and became world’s to be the world's biggest third-party online payment platform with more than 200 million users.

The company says that progress became possible owing to a great popularity of the company which has gained 100 mln subscribers just within 10 months whereas the previous 100 million users came to the online processor within 5 years following the system launch. Actually even the owners of the system did’t expect such a progress and though that the 200 millionth milestone will be reached only in 3 years.

It is necessary to note that the most users of Alipay come from China, and 90% of PayPal users live in 190 countries of the world. The number of Alipay’s users will likely grow even more since popularity of the Internet in Chine grows immensely and as per the recent predictions the country is likely to see its netizen number exceed 600 million two years or more after the figure touch 320 million, predicted analysts earlier.
