MasterCard Launches MoneySend Mobile Service with Obopay

On Thursday MasterCard announced the availability in the USA of its MoneySend service, that ensures customers to send and receive funds through a text message, by a mobile Web browser, a mobile app, or over the Internet from a PC. 

MasterCard believes customers will like a mobile, secure payment method that removes the necessity of writing or cashing checks, visiting ATMs, or wiring money, though the mobile payment category itself, which is still in its infancy in the USA.

MoneySend services are to be available for use with a MasterCard prepaid card issued by The Bancorp Bank and then customers can link it to their mobile phone number to send or receive money.

Company intends to add access to checking accounts as well as MasterCard debit and credit cards.
