20% of IT managers don’t emphasize IT security
IT managers survey has revealed that 20pc cheat in order to pass security audits. The survey “Reality Bytes” was conducted by Tufin Technologies among 151 IT security professionals. It discovered that 63% of them check their firewalls between 3 months to a year. 9% never check them at all. 51% of companies labeled their firewall rules as ‘a mess”.

Also the survey has revealed that 22% spend time from few weeks till several months to conduct firewall audit. 70% say that they conduct their audits during few days.

All those findings indicate from security point of view that many companies have firewalls, which are running under par and can contain shadowed or obsolete rules that introduce unnecessary risk to the organization.

Tufin survey also has found that almost 24% of companies – more companies that ever before - are buying IT hardware from eBay in chase of cost savings, which in current economic situation have huge priority to most companies. However, 52% of companies stated that cost cuts hadn’t impacted their efforts toward support of appropriate IT security and compliance. At the same time 48% of survey respondents stated the reverse.

“Having a clear sense of what’s going on in the trenches is an important indicator of what and where to innovate, and we are more committed than ever to making security operations less painful,” said Ruvi Kitov, CEO, Tufin Technologies.
