Citi to provide online payment option to Malayans for tax payments

This week CitiConnectSM e-Tax, an online payment solution that helps companies to make their tax payments to LHDNM was launched. Citibank was rated as the first foreign bank in the country to provide online tax payment services to its corporate customers .

Companies will now have access to a 24/7 convenient and secure online channel to initiate tax payments to LHDNM, according to the agreement. Through CitiConnect, initiation of tax payments can be carried out via an online form. CitiConnect is a web-enabled financial services portal that facilitates e-commerce transactions from a single delivery channel.

The partnership with LHDNM allows Citi to provide a platform for customers to make over 19 different tax payments via CitiConnect.

CitiConnect also helps corporations\employers to upload their PCB submission and make payments online via a simple user interface. For Citi, this new service completes its existing EPF e-Contribution alliance currently available in Malaysia.

Besides its time and cost efficiency, the e-tax payment services provided by Citibank and LHDNM was in line with Bank Negara Malaysia's strategy to promote greater adoption of and migration to more competent electronic payment modes.
