A map shows there are 3 million Internet users in UK with slow connection

According to the Reuters report, about 15% of British homes get Internet broadband access under 2 Megabits per second (Mb), the minimum speed envisaged by the government for the whole country. SamKnows’, broadband performance website on behalf of the BBC, prior research figured out that as many as 3 million homes has Internet connectivity under 2 Mb.

SamKnows produced a map highlighting "Notspot" areas where there is slow connection or no broadband availability.

Today about 60% of the country takes broadband, while some 99% has access to it.

In January communications Minister Lord Carter revealed government intention to provide universal broadband access through a mixture of fixed and wireless connections by 2012 to make Britain more competitive and help drag it out of recession.
